2013 FORD RAPTOR - LOCATED IN CANADA CURRENTLY

Purchased in May of 2019 out of Kentucky via an online auction site unseen. The purchase price was $14,950.00 USD. The shipping to Calgary Alberta and GST was just over $3800.00 CAD. The truck had 51,000 miles on it and the pictures didn’t look too bad at the time off purchase.

Last pic is one of the pics that were shown on the auction listing. The door gaps appeared to be consistent from side to side based on photos shown in the auction listing. The listing did state the truck was inoperable which I assumed was damage to the front of the engine from a low impact hit during the accident which ultimately led to the truck being written off. The window sticker price of this truck back in 2013 was $44,335.00 USD, full load with leather but no sunroof.

The truck was taken to a body shop and they told me the frame was bent and I needed a new frame. I sourced a frame in the US from a truck that was written off during a flood and had it shipped to Calgary to be sandblasted and painted with a zinc based primer and a 2 part epoxy coating as I intended keeping it in Canada. The new frame is shown in a photo here and you can see the extent of the damage which did not appear as bad as the auction pictures, go figure.

The front axle/diff, driveshaft, engine, transmission were completely totaled. I ended up finding an engine on E-Bay from a new truck for $8000.00 USD plus shipping and GST out of New York. As per the photos below.

The transmission was not the same as a Raptor from the truck the engine came out of so I sold it and bought a new one from Ford on Mcleod Trail. The front diff, driveshafts and a few other smaller parts were also purchased from them. I was also advised to put in a new cam sensor from Ford since the engine was out they tend to be problematic.
Here is the kicker, oh ya… It gets better! The cab was slightly tweaked and the body shop said there is no way it can be fixed – purchased a new cab and had everything swapped from the damaged cab into the new cab.

There were a bunch of little things here and there that had to be done like the steering wheel/airbag, a fender, the hood, grille, bumper, one flare and one headlight. I have about $64,000.00 into this truck now. But this is essentially a brand new Raptor with 51,000 miles on the rear diff &transfer case. There is a tiny dent in the box and a running board was damaged during the cab swap so there are no running boards on it now. Because the cab was swapped it has to get a new VIN #. I am still working on that, but it will be registered prior to the sale. Photos of truck completed and detailed will be added after the truck is insured and registered in Alberta
