2011 Hyundai Sonata – Runs & Drives ($5,000 OBO / Mechanic's Spe

Selling a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. It is a reliable runner and makes a great daily budget commuter, but it is being priced as a "mechanic's special" due to an electrical quirk and significant cosmetic/body wear.

Price: $5,000 OBO (Open to reasonable offers).

The Status: Clean title (Active Alberta status, owned outright).
Tires: Currently sitting on a set of winter tires (no extra or spare tires included).

Recent Maintenance: The alternator was replaced in late May/early June 2026.

The Mechanical Catch: Despite the replaced alternator, the car still has an intermittent parasitic electrical drain. If it sits for more than a day or two without being driven, the battery needs a quick boost. If you drive it daily, it starts up and runs great.

Exterior Damage & Condition: The car has noticeable body damage from use:
Large dent on the front driver-side door (someone backed into it).

Driver-side front bumper damage.

The windshield is cracked.

The sunroof was entirely destroyed; it is currently sealed, taped over, and insulated with cardboard/insulation to keep the weather out completely.

The Bottom Line: If you are handy with DIY troubleshooting, an apprentice mechanic, or just need a cheap, running vehicle with a recently replaced alternator and winter tires ready to go, this is a solid project or winter beater.
