2004 Ford F250 Lariat FX4 4x4 Supercrew Shortbox 6.0L Diesel
Bone stock unmodified 6.0L Diesel, 4 speed auto transmission. 286,000 kms. Runs strong. I’ve had it 2-1/2 years and have put 70,000 kms on it. The only two issues I’ve had with it are that I’ve had to replace the fly-by-wire accelerator pedal and the revay powering the PCU.
When I put it on the road it got a new windshield, all four calipers, rear backing plates (did the rear hub seals as you have to pull the axles and hubs to do the backing plates anyways), new brake pads, rotors, e-brake shoes and e-brake hardware and rear e-brake cables, new Rancho shocks all around and a new steering stabilizer, ball joints and tierod ends. I also had two rear spring leafs replaced on both sides that were broken Since then, I did one (maybe both) front hub/bearing assembly(s), new locking front hubs, new batteries last year, new mud terrain tires 6 months ago and a new alternator last week (it has dual alternators).
This truck is fully loaded with cold a/c, tilt, cruise, pw,pl, adjustable pedals, overhead console, leather and woodgrain interior (driver’s seat shows some wear), power driver's and passenger frong bucket seats, trailer hitch and trailer brake controller, rear sliding window. It has a factory Ford bedliner and a Lund roll-up Tonneau cover in great shape. Aftermarket stereo with backup camera and bluetooth.
This is a very very solid truck, not your typical old rotbox, its been oiled in the past, great floors, rockers, and cab corners. It’s had a few paint blow-ins for dings and to keep the rust at bay.
I put a Snowdogg 8.5 foot V-plow on it that I had from my last truck. It came on my previous 2004 F350 and my brother-in-law didn’t want the plow when he bought my old truck, so I mounted it on this truck to plow my driveway at home and at the cottage. Not used to plow commercially.
The truck is branded as rebuilt….it needed a front bumper, grill, passenger fender, and airbags. I bought it from a dealer in Brighton that rebuilt it and had it structurally inspected after the rebuild as required by MTO.
Required little if anything for safety…..the brake pads probably need changing a I have put 70k on them since they were last done.
$13,500 with the plow, $11,000 without, sold ‘as is’. Backrack rot included, its been on my last three trucks. A chunk of firewood took out the rear glass three trucks ago, and its going on my next truck (downsizing to an F150)
