This 2000 VW Beetle GL was my daily driver for many years and it served me well. It has very low km for a car of this vintage and with a few repairs it will serve a new driver for many years to come. It has only 188,500 km and cars like this routinely surpass 250,000 km.

Important Maintenance Note
Note that the heater in this car stopped working in summer 2025. I believe it is a broken heater switch or loose wire, but it could be something more challenging. This car also a touchy gas cap release button and has a couple of warning lights (air bag, oil light) that stay on permanently. Many years ago, my repair man said the warning lights were because of a faulty sensor, I’ve never repaired them and I’ve never had a problem.

Condition
This Beetle runs and drives great. The 2.0L engine is known for its durability, and the manual transmission makes it more engaging and dependable than the automatic versions of this era. The interior is in great shape for its age with only normal wear. Exterior paint still shines, though it has the typical small dings or scratches you’d expect on a 20 year-old vehicle. Minor rust in front of the rear wheel wells.
