1997 GMC Sonoma SLS regular cab 5 speed manual - on the floor, 2WD with long box, 4.3L FI V/6 Vortec 180 HP. It has strong acceleration and a 5th gear that keeps the RPMs lower on the highway for improved gas mileage.

The origin of the 4.3L engine is the GM 350 cu in. Some owners of a Sonoma or Chevy S-10 have switched out the 4.3L for a 5.7L V/8 350 cu.in. Many assume that my Sonoma has a four cylinder engine. It always surprises other drivers when it quickly passes any trucks and cars on a steep hill.

The 4.3L Vortec powered Sonoma and S-10 came new with wider rims & tires. I have two extra original GM centre caps that go with the truck.
A good basic truck with rubberized vinyl floor covering and bench seat. Newer 2022 AC Delco battery. It will need cab floor pan work but the frame & box are solid. These trucks are hard to find.

This Sonoma would be an excellent choice for a revival project. It is completely stock It has a heavier suspension with lots of power. It fits into parking spaces. It also gets through tight spots that larger trucks won't fit and has a LONG BOX.

The body is constructed of heavier gauge metal that is much more dent resistant than many newer trucks.

Truck runs and is drive able but needs an MVI. It was a former Home Hardware contractor sales truck that I have personally owned for the past 13 years. Any replacement parts including spark plugs have been AC Delco.

It has NOT been winter driven during the past 13 years. Most of my kilometres have been on the highway.

Mostly used for picking up building materials for home renovation & repair projects and towing my pontoon boat to and from winter storage. It has a frame attached trailer hitch that was professionally installed by Work & Play trailer/hitch specialists in Dartmouth.
